Gite Canigou — La Taillede

Gite Canigou was built entirely by us and completed in 2016. It is our largest holiday rental apartment; 100m², with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and large open plan kitchen/dining room/lounge. This popular gite has stunning South facing views of the mountains of the Vallespir and right down to the Mediterranean sea. With underfloor heating throughout, a powerful wood burning stove and private hot tub, Gite Canigou is a perfect winter or summer holiday destination for 6 people. The terrace has it's own BBQ, table and benches to seat 6,  a parasol,  a large comfy bench with cushions and 2 sun loungers.

The fully equipped kitchen has a large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and clothes washer. There is 4 ring induction hob and an oven/microwave, filter coffee machine, kettle etc. The gite has good WiFi and a flat screen television in a cabinet with hundreds of pre recorded movies and tv shows, or you can hook into your own Netflix account. There are also lots of board games to choose from and a selection of books.

All beds can be made up as large singles or super king doubles (with topper for extra comfort); The rooms are quiet, cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with spacious and powerful shower, and the other 2 bedrooms share a bathroom with 2 washbasins.

Prices include linen & shower towels, and dressing gowns in the cooler months (for stays of one week or more and exclusive bookings), some toilet paper, hand soap & cleaning products.

Beach towels and dressing gowns can be rented for €8 each per stay.

We also provide enough firewood & firelighters to use the wood burning stove each evening and the hot tub every day.

No need to buy drinking water as we have spring water which is filtered and UV treated and it’s better than anything you will buy in a plastic bottle!

Booking

You can check availability and reserve your stay below. Alternatively, you can contact us with any questions and we can send the booking form if you wish to proceed.

Minimum stay; 2 nights off peak, 7 nights peak (July and August), changeover day is Saturday. Christmas/New Year, minimum stay is 5 nights.

There is an 8% discount for bookings of 1 week or more.

A €75 cleaning/laundry fee will be added to your reservation when you book.

The price is for 6 people. If you would like to add an extra child, there is a small single sofa/bed for a child in the primary bedroom. If this is used, €20 per night will be added to your booking.

We are also obliged to collect the ‘Taxe de Sejour’ or Tourist Tax. This amounts to €1.30 per adult per night and will be added onto your booking once we know how many adults will be staying in the gite.

For a cot, there is an additional fee of €15 per stay.

Please note; Pets are not allowed. Also, no parties (noise to a minimum after 10pm) and no additional guests are permitted to visit other than those staying with us. Maximum number of guests in this gite is 6 (plus infant).

We love La Taillede and come back again and again. The views, the hot tubs, the authenticity. Urban comfort levels in a rural location with the most stunning views. It has everything- pool, sauna, animals and a huge welcome

Staying with Ali & Matt’s la Taillede is not only a great stay with lovely views, but also an experience. The fine moment they use as a guest-get-together are really lovely. Apartment Canigou is beautiful, well equipped with good beds. And there is a fabulous masseuse onsite with magic hands. We recommend this place for everyone who needs a good rest for body and mind. We’ll be back!

The Pyrenees Mountain Hideaway is in a breathtakingly beautiful spot, and the owners Ali and Matt spent years creating something really special here. We've stayed for a week with our family from the Netherlands. What a beautiful place! Enjoyed the hot tub and BBQ every night. Spend the hot days at the pool and went exploring on the cooler ones. Amazing area with loads of opportunities. Ali and Matt were great hosts and the BBQ with campfire they organised was a great touch. Couldn't recommend more! 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Looking at the pictures now, 10 days after leaving La Taillede do make me feel sentimental... We (group of 16 triathletes) had a fantastic stay. It's a wonderful house with all the seperate gites with very friendly and helpful hosts. A fantastic place to be able to chill with the family and enjoy the panoramic views of the mountains and forest from the terrace or hot tub.
