So, Nigel & Gina's 'retirement' (or not) house is coming along nicely. July 2015; The floor is in, annex is built, steps up to front doors have been built. Just this week the windows and doors have been fitted; custom made out of oak, to match the main house.
It's nice to see photos of the different stages; It makes us feel like we are getting somewhere!
All the lintels are custom made by Nigel; wood extracted from our forest by Matt. Also, the wooden beams in the roof of the annex is from wood from our forest, all gone in green.
We are very happy with the annex; it is beautifully built and matches the house perfectly.
Gina is desperate to be in her new home; she's being patient though! We caught her weeding in front of the house yesterday, around the rubble!
Nov 2015; Stairs is coming along. It will be an interior staircase.
May 2016. So all the underfloor heating has been laid and concreted in, and all the travertine floor tiles have also been laid. Work has started on the dividing walls, but we are waiting on wood from the saw to continue with that.
