It's Thursday afternoon and we haven't had any water at La Taillede since Monday night, other than what we can carry down in containers from the source.
We had a tap running in the house all night on Monday but as some of the pipes are exposed, it wasn't enough to stop them freezing solid in sub-zero temperatures. This is the coldest spell we have had since living here, as this didn't happen the previous 2 winters.
So, builders have been cancelled and it's the core team's job to bury 500 metres of new water pipe, from the source to the water tank and down to the house.
We hope to have running water by the weekend, and can be sure after all the hard work that this won't happen again!
